Lefkos Beach
Lefkos is a small fishing village on the north west coast. Her you can really find a quiet atmosphere in one of the 3 beaches. Here are some taverns, some hotels and a couple of small supermarkets. A bus is going here in the morning from Pigadia, and back in the afternoon. |
Achata Beach
Achata is wonderful and quiet beach with white pebble and sand. It is located close to the beach of Agia Panagia, a few kilometres north-east of Pigadia. Achata is easy to reach by car or motorbike. It is lying in an idyllic cove, surrounded by imountains and verdant vegetation. The waters on Achata have an amazing and attractive emerald-green colour. A small tavern is standing on the beach, which has no rentals or accommodations |
Apella Beach
Apella is a bit hard to reach, but there is a few different ways to get there. A couple of boats have an excursion to this beach every day, and you can get here by car. If you decide to drive we will recommend that you rent a jeep. The beach is really beautiful and clean and offers sun chairs. There is also a small tavern located on the North end of the beach. |
Kyra Panagia Beach
Kira Panagia has a nice partly sandy beach. The are excursion boats every day to take you there from Pigadia. Kira Panagia offers some taverns and have hotels. One of the most famous postcards in Greece are taken on this beach. |
Diafani Beach
This wonderful sandy and pebbled beach is located in front of the coastal village of the same name, about 70 kilometres north-west of Pigadia. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches of Karpathos and has clear, turquoise waters. Accommodations, taverns and cafes are available in the village |
Amopi Beach
Amoopi is a little place about 10 minutes drive from Pigadia. Here is 3 main beaches, and a lot of small ones for them who wants some privacy. There have some tavern's and small supermarkets. The biggest of the beaches is the one most suited for children. Amoopi offers a beach-volley court, its a good place for snorkeling. It also offers some night life with live Greek music and dancing. |
Pigadia Beach
This beach is located just outside the town of Pigadia, capital of Karpathos. It is the beach of the island which attracts most visitors, since it is so close to the capital. It extends over a few kilometres and has fine sand and beautiful waters. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent and various accommodations and taverns are located close to the beach |
